This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get Core Membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get Core Membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
On the odd chance somebody stumbles in here, this is where I'm storing the art references for development at THRILLBENT COMICS, the web-based comice site started by Mark Waid and myself a few months ago. Thrillbent -- available for free at www.thrillbent.com -- is an experiment for creating long-form comics formatted wide-screen and distributed solely through digital means.
Basically, we're spot-welding the long-form storytelling style and page-construction of traditional comics with the narrative experimentation of Balak01 (his profile's here on Deviantart) and the very successful business model of the weekly three-panel web artists. We freely admit this is nothing new or groundbreaking, but we're trying to synthesize the influences with a single goal in mind: creating a model which allows people who want to tell a story in comics to be able to do so digitally, make enough money doing it to pay the bills, and not have to screw about with third-party distributors (well, more than necessary). There are only 2000 comic shops in America, millions of screens worldwide, and readers worldwide. Having to cough up the scratch to front a limited print run just to get your story out to those few folks in the 22-page pamphlet business seems very, well, last century.
Thrillbent itself will have a Deviantart Account up soon. Make sure you swing by there for promo art, previews of our upcoming titles, and to tell us if you think you have a story and art that would make sense for Thrillbent. Thrillbent's all about empowering the talent, and there's an almost limitless pool of talent here on Deviantart.
